Counting Down
Thank you to all my pupils, both current and previous, who have voted for me to be caring teacher 2007. I really appreciate all your effort and votes. I hope I will not disappoint all of you. I am also happy that colleagues such as Mr Hong and Mr Jumari got the honour too. They are my buddies in school and I really appreciate having seniors like them, who help me when I am down and offer me a listening ear. The school holidays are here, but it will pass very quickly. 7 days pass by with the blink of an eye. May all of you achieve as much and do the best you can during this short break! Have a break, have a Kit Kat!

Important Week
Firstly, I must apologise for not updating my blog for many days. It had been like 4 months ago since I last inputted an entry! Been rather busy and tired of late... Now I am back! The CA or TR 2 are almost over, with tomorrow the last paper, Science. Hope my class can do well. Tomorrow is a BIG day for the school, due to the DDSN's visit. Mrs Lim takes this visit very seriously and my class and I do not wish to disappoint her. However, the class must really bear in mind to be more disciplined and well-behaved. Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Time really flies. It's Term 3 Week 10! Next week, it will be the September holidays. Hope the kids enjoy themselves and also do some revision. Term 4 is very short and very soon, the year end exams will arrive. Do watch out this space for more updates from me.

Bad weather and sad cases
Lately, the weather hasn't been very good. Rain has been pouring quite frequently and lots of puddles of water all over the island. But it is good as rain forms part of the WATER CYCLE! The P4 pupils will know what the WATER CYCLE is and why it is important to nature. Lots of unhappy cases of local pupils drowning in water bodies had been happening. I feel a sense of loss and sadness for the families and friends of the victims. That explains why I get very panicky and worried when parents call up or head to the General Office to ask about their kids who had not reached home after remedial lessons or other school commitments. I hope all my pupils will exercise caution and care when they are outside.

Mid Year English Oral Exam
The English mid year oral exams are finally over! I feel happy for my class. Most of them could speak though their main problems included the following: Some could not read clearly and loudly; Some were merely rushing through the reading passage like a bullet train; Some were reading too softly that even the ants could not hear them. As for the picture description, some pupils did not mention the general location of what was shown to them. But most did! Some pupils used, "I see this... I see that" which was not very approriate. Instead, they could have used, "In the top right hand corner, I can see a little boy crying helplessly." I was glad many pupils could give their own interpretations besides describing the picture. Well done, 4A! I shall post more in the days to come, so watch this space for further updates!

Apologies for Missing in Action
Sorry for not logging in to update my blogger for quite some time. Initially, it was some network problem from home. I typed my entry nicely but couldn't seem to log in. Sometimes, I am really very busy with work that I got no energy to touch this blog. Sorry to my avid readers and supporters! I shall be back more regularly.
Exams are around the corner, this week the English and Chinese oral exam shall kick off. Pray hard that my 4A babies can do well. I hope all of them can open their mouth and really talk! I shall keep all of you updated about their performance again! See ya!

Disney on Ice - Finding Nemo
Last Thursday, 15th March, the school brought pupils out to Disney on Ice at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. 4A had 22 pupils attending the event. I wish to praise these pupils who went to Disney on Ice as they were very well behaved both on the bus and at the stadium itself. I am proud of all of you, boys and girls. Even if the pupils wanted to play or chit chat, I observed that they were whispering softly. Well done! Keep it up.
Merchandise sold at the show were quite costly. Imagine a tub of pop corn selling at $15 and some candy floss selling at $12. I wonder why some families bear to spend on it. Perhaps, it is for the fun of the event together with their families. But our school pupils were also rich and spent on it. All of you are indeed fortunate. But do remember to think through before you spend as these are your parents' hard-earned money.
I hope the pupils enjoyed the show. It was very massive production which involved lots of man power and I saluted and admired the amazing skating skills of the performers. Good job to the team of Disney on Ice performers. For those who may wish to take a look at the website, here you go! http://www.disneyonice-asia.com/nemo/nemo.html
This is also the first time I have been to Disney on Ice. It was a good experience.

A Terrific or Terrible Tuesday
It's the second day of the March holidays. Today I conducted remedial lessons with my class. As some pupils had MT remedial earlier on in the morning, I had to schedule my lesson to a later time. It was supposed to be from 10 am to 1 pm. At first, I expected the turnout to be low as some pupils may be taking holiday break with their family. But I was happy to see 34 of the pupils present. The absent ones include: Brenda, Petrus, Emily, Nitesh, Siti and Bing Fu. I wonder why these pupils were absent. Hope they were absent for a valid reason.
As for the rest of the class, we did quite a lot of work today. I gave the class revision papers to attempt. We started off with English, followed by Science and finally Mathematics. The class was quite prompt with English and Science but they couldn't finish the Math paper. I really hope the pupils would strive to improve and work hard so that they can do better for the mid year exam.
As for myself, I was not feeling well this morning. I believe the breakfast I ate was contaminated. If my pupils were observant, some would have seen me rushing out of the classroom at least twice this morning. I went to vomit in the toilet. It was a terrible experience. In fact, I still have diarrhoea and stomach pain till now. Not to worry, I have taken some pills. I just hope and pray that I will be fine as I do not want to fall ill, especially not to suffer a relapse of my stomach flu which I caught in January. :(

My March Holidays
Time indeed flies! To think that the March holidays are already here. I was typing an entry last Wednesday but the network had some problems and I lost the entry. *Sob sob* Let me try to recall the content and re-type it here then.
The termly review is finally over. My babies from 4A did not do very well. I hope all of them will not give up hope, but instead, use the March holidays wisely and pull up their socks. Work harder on their weak subjects and seek for better improvement. We must never give up hope until we really try. We can never know the amount of results we can achieve.
This coming week of holiday doesn't seem to be much of a rest for me. Though there is not formal classroom lessons with the pupils, I have something on almost everyday of the week. I have to attend my Math course at NIE on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday, I have arranged for extra lesson with my class from 10 am to 1 pm. On Thursday, the P3 and P4 form teachers and some others have to bring the pupils to Disney On Ice. What a hectic week. But I shall perservere! When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. I hope to have a smooth and blessed week!

Exploring the Wonders of Blog
Its Friday, the last day of the week. Time indeed flies, a few more days later and it will be March. Tonight, I spent time not on writing my blog but exploring the functions, or rather exploring one function only. The function is how to upload photographs onto the site. I had quite a number of photos to upload, sorry to my babies of 4 Attentiveness that I did not upload all the group photos as the uploading took time and I believed it definitely took up space too. Some of you may be wondering why the last picture on Star Wars is so big, I myself is still figuring out why. But it's attention grabbing right? I shall try to resize or re-position it. Meanwhile, have a good weekend ahead of you! Ciao!

An eventful Thursday
Today, I went to Canberra Primary School for the P4 N7 SEAB English Curriculum Assessment Workshop. As such, I was not around in school to conduct lessons for my class. I must admit that setting a fair, valid and reliable test is definitely not an easy job. It takes a lot of effort and patience to select questions, identify suitable distractors and even a simple layout of the test is very important. So I understand why it is essential to set our questions earlier so that we can let our respective superiors and HODs vet through. It may be a good idea to get another teacher (may be Mother Tongue teacher) or even our siblings to look through the test we have set, as they are able to offer us many valuable feedback on what areas to improve. I miss my students in a way, as CA or Termly Review is next week. Let me pray hard that most if not all can pass the Termly Review and make their parents and myself proud of them!

My Learning Point
Its not that difficult to do blogging. Let's start as slowly as possible because slow and steady wins the race! Yeah! I wish all a happy blogging session!
My Second Post ~ Learning From My Mistake
Please do not follow my wrong example of using "D + Evil Teacher". Such nicknames have negative connotations. I will learn from my mistake.
My First Blog Entry
Yeah! Its the first day of school after the long CNY holidays. It had been a good break, but lazy bones like me would definitely want a longer holidays. Bear with it for a few more days and its going to be the weekend again! Woo hoo!~
Last Friday, a sad incident happened to me. I dropped my card holder in school. Sigh... I would usually put the card holder into my bag when I arrived in school, but that unfated Friday, I brought the card holder out with me everywhere. I went to the canteen, classroom and finally school hall. I suspected I dropped the card holder while ascending the stairs from the canteen. In fact, I did not realise it until I was about to go home, at about 3pm in the afternoon.
At that time, I wanted to report loss at the school's General Office but I realised most staff should have gone home for their last minute spring cleaning and shopping. I returned home, heavy-hearted. What tough luck I had for the Friday. I was to blame for my own recklessness.
