Never Back Down

During the last week of June holidays, I went to watch this movie called "Never Back Down". The lead actor of the show is Sean Faris, and my class happened to have 2 Faris-es too. Both are completely different in nature and appearances, but both are my still my cute babies in 5 Creativity. Let me tell you briefly what the movie is about.

Jake (Sean Faris) is the new kid in school. When a beautiful girl (Amber Heard) befriends him, Jake thinks he's set. But instead, her fight-club boyfriend, Ryan (Cam Gigandet), smacks Jake a bloody, black-eyed welcome. Humiliated, Jake then turns to a mixed martial arts (MMA) master (Djimon Hounsou), who teaches him how to fight… and how to walk away. But it becomes obvious that a brutal re-match is inevitable if Jake wants to stop Ryan and his bullying, once and for all.

It is a pretty violent movie, but it teaches us a morale, which is never to give up hope when we are faced with obstacles. We can overcome all problems, if we try!

Hello Everyone!

I am currently at White Sands Primary School, attending a course on weblogs in Maths. It is pretty interesting as I learned to explore and harness the many possibilites of using blog for teaching and learning. I hope I can implement it in my classroom use soon. The image on the right is a JPEG from a PowerPoint slide!

By the way, the P5 level, together with some teachers, are going to the NE Show this coming Saturday, 12th July 2008. Actually I went with the current P6 pupils to the floating platform @ Marina Bay (MB). It was a very fun experience! Every event that happened was so live, real and educational! It is really a different, enriching experienced as compared to watching it from the television screen on 9th August annually... I hope all my 5 Creativity babies can enjoy themselves and learn something meaningful when they embark on this journey to MB this Saturday!

Hello Gina, my ex-student

Hi Gina! Of course I remembered you, all of you from P4/1 were the first batch of students I took over when I came to Wellington Primary. The class had students like U, Joanne, CJJ, Stanley Kan and many many others... How have you been? I heard you are pretty close to Rachel now, that's good! Stay in contact ok?

TGIF! (Thank God it's Friday)

Oh gosh! Oh man! Oh my god! I always say this as my beginning sentence, because it really is the case. Time really flies! It's gonna be end of April soon and the mid year exams are coming in the twitch of an eye! I am really worried and nervous for my 41 babies, as I do care for each and every of them, though I do sound harsh and scold them often. I hope they do understand, it is for their own good.
One of my students, Fauzan passed a remark which sort of stunned me during ICT lesson. He said something like "Kind hearted teachers are taken advantage of." Hmmm.... I truly agree with his statement. I am nice and cool but sometimes pupils take advantage of this! I must say Fauzan is the "Mr Cool Guy" since Primary 4. He is quite good looking, and always ensures he looks good in front of everyone. The only time I don't see him with gelled or waxed hair was during the P5 camp! Haha... But he is quite cool afterall! Don't all of you agree?
Shaikh, on the other hand, used to be called "Malay Mr Bean" by me. Thank you Mohd Faris for reminding me. I always thought Shaikh is cute and animated, which is why I always teased him and acknowledged him as my "brother". In fact, all of my pupils can be my brothers and sisters! I welcome all of you, if you don't mind me as a sister! Pehaps I should blog more often about my wonderful babies of 5 Creativity ya?
Next week is Oral Exam, I wish all my babies all the best in both MT and English Oral exam next week! Speak up and make your comments heard, dear babies!

Singapore Kindness Movement 2008

As all if you should have known, its Singapore Kindness Week again! As briefed by Mr Wong during Assembly on Monday, the primary fives and sixes have to either create a class blog or use existing blog to post comments. All of you have to post comments and messages to express thanks and gratitude towards 3 groups of people, namely, 1) our Principal, Mrs Elsie Lim and our Vice Principal, Mr James Goh, 2) any teachers in the school and 3) parent volunteers. So put on your thinking cap and express words of gratitude towards any of the above-mentioned group of people!
Remember, "Kindness is when you give everything to anyone who is in need and not expect anything in return."
Pen down some thoughts to thank the people who have influenced or moulded your lives in one way or another!

Welcome 2008! (Sorry it's a bit late!)

Hello! It's 2008 and it's now April! I have to apologise for not updating this class blog for months! Time indeed flies and I am actually teaching another class now, Primary 5 Creativity. Some of my ex-pupils are still in my current class, and I feel happy to receive the pupils from other classes too. May all of us work together and achieve good results for 2008! All the best, 5 Creativity "babies".

Counting Down

Thank you to all my pupils, both current and previous, who have voted for me to be caring teacher 2007. I really appreciate all your effort and votes. I hope I will not disappoint all of you. I am also happy that colleagues such as Mr Hong and Mr Jumari got the honour too. They are my buddies in school and I really appreciate having seniors like them, who help me when I am down and offer me a listening ear. The school holidays are here, but it will pass very quickly. 7 days pass by with the blink of an eye. May all of you achieve as much and do the best you can during this short break! Have a break, have a Kit Kat!

Important Week

Firstly, I must apologise for not updating my blog for many days. It had been like 4 months ago since I last inputted an entry! Been rather busy and tired of late... Now I am back! The CA or TR 2 are almost over, with tomorrow the last paper, Science. Hope my class can do well. Tomorrow is a BIG day for the school, due to the DDSN's visit. Mrs Lim takes this visit very seriously and my class and I do not wish to disappoint her. However, the class must really bear in mind to be more disciplined and well-behaved. Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Time really flies. It's Term 3 Week 10! Next week, it will be the September holidays. Hope the kids enjoy themselves and also do some revision. Term 4 is very short and very soon, the year end exams will arrive. Do watch out this space for more updates from me.
